Palm Craft by Sylph Nightbloom

Welcome to my new online store, Palm Craft by Sylph Nightbloom! Here you will find nearly everything I have created so far with coconut palm fronds. Everything you see here is available to mail-order.

If you have an idea for something you don’t see here, feel free to write to me at spiralsylph@gmail.com, with, “Can you weave it?” as the subject header. I will let you know if your vision is within my capability to create…

All palm craft starts out green and pliable, and is the heaviest that it will ever be, when it is freshly made. All palm craft also dries and changes color eventually, and I offer 3 color options to those who are wanting to purchase items dried prior to shipping. The color options for shipping items, are as follows:

1. Green- This is a freshly woven, bright green creation, which will dry somewhat during shipping, and even more once you receive it. You can choose for yourself among the other 3 color options, after you receive your items.

2. Golden-brown- This is the color that palm craft turns when it is put in direct sunlight for several days. The hotter the temperature, the quicker the color change.

3. Greenish-silver- This option takes the longest to achieve, and one must keep the items out of direct sunlight, and in a cool place for several weeks in order to get this color.

4. Russet-brown- This option entails putting the items in the freezer for at least a couple of days. When you take them out, you can then place them in the sun, in order to dry all the condensation out of them.

For all color options, it is important to dry the items thoroughly, and keep them dry, in order to prevent mold from setting in.

I also offer custom, online palm weaving workshops, for distance learners!  If you want to learn to weave with coconut palm fronds, you can order the material from me, and I will create a video for you, to teach you, step-by-step to do one of several projects, ranging from easy to moderately difficult.  RIght now, I only offer the 3-tiered basket chain, but I will be creating more videos soon…  Write to me, to discuss adding new projects to my list of available workshops, with “Can you teach me?” in the subject header.

I currently accept PayPal, Venmo, and Wal-Mart-to-Wal-Mart payments. If you have another preferred method of payment, just ask, and I might be able to accommodate you.

All proceeds go toward the worthy goal of getting back custody of my little girl, Ever, whose father stole her from me against her will, using the court system in Canada, almost a year ago. She and I believe we will soon be victorious in court, but we can use all the help we can get, since custody battles are lengthy and expensive. We are both grateful for every purchase you make! <3

This Website is a work in progress, and I will be making changes to it in an ongoing way. Feel free to comment with any suggestions you may have about how I might improve my Site.

Brightest blessings!
